Default Tombs Maps/Layouts

I am starting to Tomb PvP more, and would like to bone up on the all the different levels I may see. Is there anybody that has maps/layouts for the different areas one may see in Tombs?

I did a search using "tombs" and "map" with no results.

That's a good idea, I've never seen any maps or discussions of the basic tombs tactics geared towards new players. I'll start asking my tombs opponents if they'll let me take some screenshots for a map before we start fighting...maybe other people could do the same and we could compile them here to help ease the new Pvpers into tombs.

Yep. It would be nice to see the Complete Tombs Guide somewhere, with every map detailed and how it works. But, as the guys that frequent these places know, knowledge is power...

Maybe its a closed shop were guilds dont want to lose their knowledge of the tombs to the general populace and thus lose their edge, but hopefully somebody out there with a thirst for truth will put pen to paper (or finger to key) and write one.

I could have used some prior knowledge for my 1st trip to the Hall of Heroes. It was the 1st time for all of us and we hadn't a clue what to do and got beat within 2 mins....and I STILL don't know what to do if I ever get there again.

Share the knowledge guys!! Maybe someone should reward the best guide with some platinum ingame?? (but not me because Im one of those always broke guys....)

I only make it to Halls a couple times a week, but I think I can speak for most people that are rank 6+ in saying that it would be a lot better if people who were new to PvP did understand the maps better. Even without worrying about terrain and general tactics there's an awefully steep learning curve for people who are new to tombs. I'd much rather have slightly better competition than put thousands of new people through the trial and error process I had to get through to get that first 180 fame. So, I'll try to start contributing to this thread when I have time, and I hope some other experienced tombs players out there will as well!

I might as well start at the very beginning...getting into tombs in the first place.

You start outside of tombs, and must beat a group of ghostly undead in order to enter. When you spawn, there will be 4 ghostly undead waiting for you. As soon as you run past where your hero is standing, the timer will begin, and 2 or 3 more ghostly undead will appear. The exact makeup of the enemy group can vary, but it always contains one monk on the left, one monk on the right, an elementalist in the middle, a mesmer towards the front, and a warrior somewhere. After that the rest of the group (1 or 2 others) may be made up of warriors, rangers, or necros.

A tip for new people, DO NOT start the timer until your party is ready. The faster you defeat the undead the better your morale boost will be, up to a maximum of +10%. Most successful teams usually target the middle elementalist first, or the two monks...or some combination of those depending on what your team build is.

I believe you need to beat them in under 30 seconds to get the 10% morale boost. After that is 8%, 6%, etc.

One more note, after you've beaten the ghostlies, do your group a favor and don't go getting killed by a dust trap set by the ghostly ranger

EDIT: It looks like photobucket likes to crash and doesn't always show my attached image...can somebody recommend a better spot to host images for this?
